Creative Materials Disclaimer
Wild Spaniel Films welcomes scripts, pitch documents and other creative materials from writers, filmmakers and collaborators. To protect both you and us, please read this disclaimer before submitting any work.
By sending creative materials to Wild Spaniel Films, you agree to the following terms.
1. Ownership of Your Work
You retain full ownership of your script, pitch document or creative idea. Submitting your work does not transfer any rights to Wild Spaniel Films.
We will not use, adapt or develop your material without your permission and without a separate written agreement.
2. No Guarantee of Development
Submitting creative materials does not guarantee:
development
production
representation
feedback
employment
collaboration
We review materials at our discretion and may not be able to respond to every submission.
Script editing is provided as a paid service unless a separate development agreement is made. We consider all submissions carefully, but we choose development projects at our discretion based on creative fit, feasibility and our current slate. Submission alone does not guarantee development, nor does it create any obligation for Wild Spaniel Films to take a project forward.
3. Similar Ideas and Independent Development
Wild Spaniel Films may already be developing ideas, formats or projects that are similar to the materials you submit.
By sending us your work, you acknowledge that:
similarities may occur coincidentally
we may continue developing our own ideas
we are not restricted from creating or producing similar concepts
This protects both parties from misunderstandings around originality and overlap.
4. Voluntary Submission
All submissions are voluntary. You should only send materials you are comfortable sharing.
If your work contains confidential or sensitive information, please let us know before sending it.
5. How We Handle Your Materials
We may keep internal notes or records relating to submissions. We may store your materials for reference for up to 24 months unless a project progresses.
We will not share your materials outside Wild Spaniel Films unless:
you give permission, or
a project moves into formal development
6. No Obligation to Return Materials
We are not required to return scripts, documents or files submitted to us. Please keep your own copies of all materials.
7. Confidentiality
We treat submissions respectfully and confidentially. However, confidentiality is not guaranteed unless a separate agreement is in place.
8. Formal Agreements
If Wild Spaniel Films wishes to develop your work, we will discuss this with you directly and provide a separate written agreement covering:
rights
credit
fees
development terms
production terms
No development relationship exists until that agreement is signed.
